WSE was engaged by Zinfra Group to provide the engineering design of Design and Construct augmentations to the Moura and Biloela Water Treatment Plants for Banana Shire Council during 2015. The services included provision of process, mechanical, civil, and structural engineering for design and documentation of new chemical storage, metering, and delivery systems at both WTPs together with new pre-treatment tankage and sludge disposal infrastructure at Moura and a new building to house some of the chemical metering systems at Biloela. The chemical metering systems included batching and metering of powdered activated carbon (PAC), potassium permanganate and polyelectrolyte together with dosing systems for coagulant and alkali at each plant. The pre-treatment infrastructure at Moura included the raw water treatment and rapid mix tanks which were installed upstream of the existing treatment processes.
Subsequent to the successful completion of these works WSE was engaged by Zinfra to provide design services associated with the D&C delivery of the Stage 2 Augmentation of the Moura WTP. This new project included the provision of an additional 25 L/s treatment train plus 1500 m3 clear water storage be constructed during 2016 at the Moura Water Treatment Plant.
