WSE was engaged by Comdain Constructions to provide the engineering design of Design and Construct augmentations to the Rathdowney Water Treatment Plant for Seqwater during 2015. The services included provision of process, mechanical, civil, structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control engineering for design and documentation of new treaded water storage & pumping, backwash water storage & pumping, sludge handing plant & geo-tubes and chemical systems storage & dosing at Rathdowney WTP. The chemical metering systems included batching and metering of powdered polyelectrolyte together with dosing systems for coagulant and treated water disinfection with sodium hypochlorite. Siemens PLCs and ClearSCADA were the control systems platform.
